Start with your main use
At this budget, one pair is unlikely to do everything well. Pick the one job that matters most to you, then read the listing with that job in mind.
| Your main use | Look at | Ignore |
|---|---|---|
| Office calls and Zoom | Mic quality in real reviews | Number of mics alone |
| Bus, metro, flights | ANC and ear tip fit | The highest dB claim |
| Mobile games | Low latency mode | Battery hours |
| Long train trips | Hours on one charge | Total hours with the case |
| Music at home | Sound and codec support | Mic count |
ANC, honestly explained
Active noise cancellation uses tiny mics to hear outside sound. The earbuds then play the opposite sound wave to cancel it out.
This works well on low, steady noise such as a bus engine, a metro hum, an aeroplane cabin or an air conditioner. It works poorly on sudden or high sounds, such as voices, horns and pressure cookers. No budget earbud will silence a busy Indian road.
Keep these points in mind:
- The dB figure is a company claim. The listings below run from 25 dB to 46 dB, but brands may measure in different ways. It is often a peak at one frequency, not across all sound.
- Hybrid ANC uses mics both outside and inside the ear. This design can work better than outside mics alone, but the tuning still matters.
- Fit comes first. Silicone tips that seal your ear block a lot of noise with no electronics at all. Try each tip size in the box.
- ANC uses battery. Expect fewer hours with it switched on.
Mic quality for calls
This is where budget earbuds differ most, and where the listing tells you least. "Quad mic" or "4 mics" sounds impressive, and extra mics can help to pick out your voice. But the software matters as much as the count.
So do not trust the number. Instead:
- Search for a review with a mic sample recorded outdoors.
- Listen for how the voice sounds with traffic behind it, not in a quiet room.
- When your earbuds arrive, make a real call in a noisy place while you can still return them.
If you take calls on a scooter, expect wind noise from any pair at this budget.
Latency for games
Latency is the delay between something on screen and the sound reaching you. With Bluetooth, this delay is easy to notice in games such as shooters, where footsteps and shots arrive late.
Video apps usually adjust for this delay, so films are normally fine. A game has no such fix. A listed figure such as 45ms normally refers to a special game mode, which you may need to switch on, and your phone adds its own delay. Treat it as a guide. On a budget phone, the same earbuds may feel slower than the listing suggests.

2. realme Buds T310

The realme Buds T310 carry the highest ANC figure of these five, listed as 46dB with a hybrid design. Against that, the total battery figure is the lowest here. They are aimed at commuters who care more about outside noise than about charging less often.

Good for: A daily bus, metro or flight commuter who puts noise reduction first.
3. realme Buds T200x

The realme Buds T200x cover a bit of everything: ANC, four mics and low latency. Their ANC figure, listed as 25 dB, is the lowest of the pairs that give one, so they are less focused on noise than the T310. They are aimed at someone who wants a mix of calls, games and music.
Key details
- ANC: listed as 25 dB
- Battery: listed as up to 48 hours in total
- Mics: quad mic
- Latency: listed as 45ms

- The separate buds only hours are not listed, so confirm them, because they decide one session.

Good for: An all-round user who splits time between calls, games and music.
4. boAt Nirvana Ion

The boAt Nirvana Ion has the largest battery figure here by far, listed as 120 hours with the case. It leans towards calls and long use, not noise cancelling. It is aimed at people who dislike charging and want four mics for calls.
Key details
- Battery: listed as 120 hours in total, with 24 hours per charge

- Build: IPX4, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C

- A listed 24 hours per charge suits long train trips.
- In-ear detection pauses the music when you take the buds out.
- Two EQ modes let you switch between a signature and a balanced sound.
- The title and features do not mention ANC, though one spec field does, so do not count on it.
- At 60ms, the listed latency is the highest of those given here, so gamers may notice more delay.
Good for: Someone on long journeys who wants to charge rarely and take the odd call.
5. GOBOULT Mustang Nitro

The GOBOULT Mustang Nitro pairs ANC listed at up to 32dB with a 72 hour total, and it has the newest Bluetooth version here, 6.0. The look follows Mustang car styling, with tail lights. It is aimed at buyers who want a bold design along with ANC and long battery.

- The Mustang-style design stands out from plain earbuds.
- No latency figure is listed, so confirm it if you play mobile games.
- Water resistance is mentioned with no IP rating, so confirm it.
- The model number field reads Airbass, not Mustang Nitro, so check the listing before you order.
Good for: A style-minded buyer who wants ANC and long battery.
Battery claims: the simple sum
The large number on a listing almost always includes the charging case. It is also usually measured at moderate volume with ANC off. Look for the separate "buds only" figure, because that decides whether you get through a long train journey.
For the total figure, try this rough sum. Take a quarter off the listed hours for louder volume and ANC, then divide by your daily use.
| Listed total | After taking off a quarter | At 3 hours a day |
|---|---|---|
| 54 hours | About 40 hours | About 13 days |
| 72 hours | 54 hours | 18 days |
| 120 hours | 90 hours | 30 days |
This is our own planning estimate, not a test. Batteries also lose capacity with age.
Bluetooth codecs in plain words
A codec is how sound gets packed and sent over Bluetooth.
- SBC works everywhere and is the basic level.
- AAC is what iPhones use, and many Android phones support it too.
- aptX, LDAC and LHDC can carry more data, but your phone must support the same codec.
Many budget Android phones support only some of these. Search your phone's specifications, or look in its Bluetooth settings while connected. On a phone that lacks the codec, the feature on the box does nothing.
Warranty and returns
- Check that the seller is listed as authorised and keep your invoice.
- See how long the warranty lasts, and whether it covers the case as well as the buds.
- Find out if service is by courier or walk-in, and if your town is covered.
- Note the return window, then use it to test calls, fit and game delay in the first few days. Keep the box until you are sure.

Common questions
Is ANC worth having in budget earbuds?
It can help on a bus, metro or flight, where the noise is a low steady hum. It helps much less with voices and sudden sounds, and a good ear tip fit matters as much as the ANC figure.
Is a higher dB ANC figure always better?
Not always. Brands may measure in different ways, and the figure may be a peak at one sound frequency. Use it as a rough hint only.
Why does my 54 hour earbud die in a few hours?
The big number usually adds the charging case. The buds themselves run for much less on one charge, and ANC and high volume shorten that further.
